Cleaning the Kanc

Kancamagus Clean Up

On Monday, September 25, Loon team members removed an estimated 350 gallons of waste from the White Mountain National Forest during the annual Kancamagus Clean Up. The Kancamagus Highway is a National Scenic Byway that we are so fortunate to have on our doorstep.

An estimated 150 gallons of recyclable waste and 200 gallons of landfill waste were separated and brought to the proper transfer station. Loon is proud to participate in the Sponsor-A-Highway program to help maintain the surrounding environment and community.

What is the Sponsor-A-Highway program?

Sponsor-A-Highway is a volunteer-based program designed to support the Department of Transportation’s efforts to maintain state roads. This program is key to helping the state keep the cost of labor down, while minimizing traffic’s impact on the environment.
