Grooming

Fleet Efficiency

Loon continues to grow its grooming fleet with the purchase of two additional PRINOTH BISON snowcats. These cats comply with" Stage IV/Tier 4 final" exhaust emission standards and don't compromise performance with low fuel consumption. By overhauling our fleet to modern machinery, our snow cats are 92 percent cleaner while covering 25 percent more terrain.

Effectively managing energy and efficiency is also a part of the grooming operation. Using cutting edge Leica GPS satellite technology, Loon can monitor and measure snowpack across the mountain to better guide grooming and snowmaking decisions. Loon also utilizes the SnowHow fleet management system to increase the overall efficiency and usage of all the snowcats in the fleet.
