FAQs

Got a question?

Everything you need to know about the Flying 50s program at Loon Mountain.

You must be able to ski green-level terrain. The program welcomes all skill levels above that minimum, with coaching tailored to help you progress regardless of where you start.

The Flying 50s meets two mornings per week (Wednesdays and Thursdays) from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at the Octagon Base Area. The program runs from early January through mid-March. Specific dates for the 2026/27 season will be posted when available.

A season pass or lift ticket is not included in the Flying 50s program fee. You will need a valid season pass or lift ticket for each program day. A New England Pass or Loon LTD Pass are popular options for program participants.

The program includes weekly coaching sessions, two demo days, a pro-level boot fit lecture, two video analysis sessions, a tuning clinic, a strength and flexibility clinic, a season kick-off party, après gatherings, and an end-of-season celebration. Some social events require a separate attendance fee.

The Flying 50s is designed for skiers ages 50 and up. Check the Loon Mountain seasonal programs page for other program options.
