Mountain Bike FAQs

Loon Bike Park has over 15+ total miles of downhill mountain biking trails, and 8+ miles of cross-country trails. Please check our Mountain Report for current Bike Park trail status information.

  • Downhill bike lessons only, do not include lift access or rental, and can be purchased separately.
  • For a more comprehensive experience, the Downhill Discovery Package includes a group lesson, bike rental and 2-hour lift access.
  • The All In Package is an all-day package that includes comprehensive introduction to downhill biking techniques, rental bike and full-day lift ticket.

ALREADY HAVE A GO CARD?
Just head straight to the lift! Your MTB access is automatically loaded on your GO Card.

DON'T HAVE A GO CARD?

  • Scan the QR code on your purchase confirmation email at the Pickup Box (PUB) located in the Governor Adams Lodge to dispense your GO Card.
  • Keep your GO Card in your pocket, away from phone, keys, etc. Your GO Card is equipped with RFID technology. As you approach the gate, your ticket will signal the gate to open and let you pass through.

What You Need To Ride

Here are guidelines of the gear you need to ride Loon Bike Park.

Required while riding. Full-face helmets are recommended.

Helmets and pads can be rented at the Bike Shop.

  • Suspension | Front suspension is required on bikes with wheels larger than 20 inches. Full suspension is recommended.
  • Brakes | Front and rear hand brakes are required. Disc breaks recommended.
  • Wheels | Minimum of 20 inch wheels required. Smaller bikes will not fit properly on our bike carrier.
  • Tires | Tires wider than 4.75 inches will not fit properly within the Bike Clip lift carrier.

When it comes to downhill biking, comfort and mobility are key. Wear comfortable athletic clothing.

  • Closed-toed shoes are required. Athletic shoes or light hiking boots with a good tread.
  • Bike Pants, long shorts or leggings recommended.
  • Long sleeve or 3/4 length athletic shirt recommended.

No matter what, as long as you're comfortable and have free movement, you'll be ready to hit the trails!

e-Bikes (with batteries connected) are not allowed on the downhill mountain biking trails or East Ridge Trail Network.

Direct-Mount and Large (or oversized) fenders may not fit properly within the Bike Clip lift carrier. Use fender test station in front of Kanc 8 prior to loading.
