Seasonal Program Update

Gearing Up for the Weekend

Thanks to everybody for a successful start to the Dev Team and Scouts season. Coaches were thrilled to welcome new and returning athletes, and take the first steps towards having a successful season.

We're still fine-tuning groups, and things may change for your child based on ability level. Joe will reach out to parents if changes are being made to your child's group. If you did not receive communications from Joe about your child changing groups and feel that they should be moved to a different group, reach out to Joe.

Attendance is important. Your child will have the best chance of success if they are with their group each day. If you are going to miss time on the mountain, please let your child's coach know.

Holiday Schedule

Programs will run full days from December 26 to December 31 (8:30AM-3:00PM). There will be no programs on Thursday, January 1 or Friday, January 2. January 3–4 will be a normal weekend schedule.

If your child will missing any days during vacation week, please be sure to let Joe Weeks know as soon as possible, to help us forecast staffing needs.

Regular Weekly Schedule

Saturdays: 8:30AM-3PM

Sundays: 8:30AM-1PM*

Don't Be Late

Please drop off your child promptly at their on-snow location, fully dressed including boots, and ready to shred. Late drop-offs are difficult to accommodate, and may need to wait until lunch to connect with their group.

Competition Team Update

Thanks to all the athletes who participated in the Rail Jam at Loon this past weekend. We saw nine Loon athletes on the podium; coaches are proud of all the athletes' hard work. Find the full results CTA: here.

FULL RESULTS

Keep going and progressing every day you’re here. There are many more events on the horizon, and this weekend will be a great two days of training.

Please let your coach know if your athlete is not able to make it to the mountain.

New! IFSA

New this year, the Comp Team will explore a new discipline, called freeride. Freeride is a combination of speed, tricks, technical skiing & riding, and style. Events are held on steep, natural terrain courses with cliffs, drops, and moguls.

The event series, run by IFSA, holds regional events throughout the winter. We will send coaches to one event this winter at Sunday River on February 14. With enough demand, we will also send coaches to the championship series at Jay Peak in March. More on IFSA and details about events below.

About IFSA

The International Freeskiers & Snowboarders Association (IFSA) was founded in 1996 by Shane McConkey, a pioneer in freeskiing. Shane believed that freeride athletes would be best served by an athlete-owned organization.

Basic Requirements

  • Athlete must wear back protector
  • Membership: Athletes can register for a 1-event membership with IFSA and the eastern region of IFSA, or for the full series and compete in multiple events.
  • You are able to qualify for the eastern championship from just one event.
  • Pricing for memberships, events, and more details can be found on tje IFSA website.
