Loon Mountain Race

Named the "Most Competitive Hillclimb" by Runner's World Magazine, this ridiculously tough race follows a traditional combination of dirt trails, service roads, and ski trails to the summit of North Peak via the infamous Upper Walking Boss.

Early Bib Pickup

Stop by the Governor Adams Lodge the day before the race to pick up your race bib.

Spectators

Take a gondola skyride and watch racers finish at the top of North Peak.

  • Spectators may start loading the Gondola Skyride starting at 7:30AM on Sunday, July 7.
  • Skyride tickets are valid all day and can be used for multiple rides and offer access to other attractions at the summit of Loon Peak throughout the day, including the glacial caves, Herbert’s Observation Tower and disc golf course.

The Gondola Skyride is located at the Octagon Lodge. The race starts at the Governor Adams Lodge.

Parking

Parking spaces are limited. Carpooling is highly recommended.

Parking lots will open at 6:00AM. Follow parking attendant instructions when you arrive.

Food & Drink

Breakfast: Fuel up before the race—Governor Adams Lodge will be open for coffee and snacks. Spectators on their way to North Peak can also enjoy breakfast at Summit Cafe.

Lunch: The finish line isn't the end of the fun. Head to Governor Adams Lodge and Babe's Blue Ox Lounge after the race for lunch. Celebrate your accomplishment, or cheer on the winners during the awards ceremony.
