Loon Mountain Race
$20,000 Cash Purse Presented by Darn Tough
Named the "Most Competitive Hillclimb" by Runner's World Magazine, this ridiculously tough race follows a traditional combination of dirt trails, service roads, and ski trails to the summit of North Peak via the infamous Upper Walking Boss.
Some faces of the race.
Smiling, posing, and cheering through the pain, 425 athletes tackled the 6+ mile course, culminating with the 40% pitch ascent of Upper Walking Boss to the finish line.
With a $20,000 purse by Darn Tough on the line, Meikael Beaudoin-Rousseau clinched first place in the men's division with a time of 50:40.59. Amber Zimmerman took first place in the women's division with a time of 1:01:22.84.
Congratulations to the entire field. You clearly showed who's really the boss.
