Loon Launches Season with 14 Trails and the Longest Vertical in NH

Leads New Hampshire with the most open terrain on Opening Day.

LINCOLN, NH (November 20, 2025)—Loon will kick off its 60th winter season this Friday, November 21, offering 2,100 vertical feet of skiing and riding—leading New Hampshire with the most open terrain. Guests will have access to 14 trails across two peaks, served by two high-speed lifts, delivering top-to-bottom skiing to start the season.

Fueled by around-the-clock snowmaking and a timely assist of natural snow, Opening Day conditions are shaping strong. Skiers and riders can expect 72 acres of terrain—a mix of intermediate, advanced and beginner-level trails on Loon Peak and North Peak, including guest-favorites like Upper Walking Boss, Flying Fox and Seven Brothers. Two terrain parks will also open.

Loon has made big improvements to its already impressive snowmaking system, and those are proving their worth. The resort has been able to produce more snow faster, particularly on higher-elevation terrain—resulting in wall-to-wall snow coverage on signature trails such as Sunset, one of the mountain’s widest and most popular runs.

“We’re off to impressive start,” said Brian Norton, Loon’s President and General Manager. “Our goal is to deliver the best possibleconditions from day one, and seeing these snowmaking upgrades in action is incredibly exciting. We’re looking forward to welcoming guests for our 60th winter season.”

Opening Day festivities will feature giveaways, music, and après in The Paul Bunyan Room as the resort celebrates the start of its milestone season.
