Herbert's Observation Tower

Climb Above

Soar to the summit of Loon Peak, and climb 3 stories of stairs to reach top of the Herbert's Observation Tower. From there, you can see for miles in every direction. From Mount Washington to Moosilauke and the Presidential Range, take in the views of over 24 of New Hampshire's 4,000+ foot peaks.

Elevation: 2,733' 

Originally built in 1966 by George Herbert and team; the tower was re-constructed in 2001 by Snowmakers Ken Mack, Steve Ide, Clark Govoni and Grounds Crew member Ben Vendt. 

Boardwalk & Nature Path

Walk along the wooden boardwalk and nature path that surrounds Loon Peak. Take in the expansive mountain landscapes at two viewing platforms; or stop at the interpretive panels and learn about the local animals, plants and environment.
