Just Getting Started? We're here to help, with group lessons geared to first-timers and novice skiers and snowboarders ages 13 & older looking to gain confidence on the mountain.
Get a Leg Up
Loon is the perfect place to learn the sport of skiing & snowboarding — our effective techniques will help accelerate learning for first-time and novice skiers to boost their on-hill skills.
Learn new skills alongside others of similar ability and work with one of Loon’s trained coaches in a relaxed, supportive setting.
Lesson Meeting Times
- Meet your coach at 9:45AM on snow, outside the Rental Shop. Please arrive to your lesson dressed and ready to ski.
- Lessons start promptly at 10:00AM

Lift Access
The lesson includes a Lesson Lift Ticket, with access to the Sarsaparilla and Kissin' Cousin lifts, based on operating days.
Reserve in Advance
Group lessons do sell out, and availability can change. Check online for current availability.
Reservations are strongly recommended for group lessons, especially during weekends and holiday periods. Reserve lessons online 48 hours or more in advance. For example: for a Saturday lesson, reserve online by Thursday.
Check In & Rentals
Your day begins at the Governor Adams Lodge base area. Please allow ample time for check-in during weekends and holiday periods.
Have Your Equipment?
If you have your own skis or snowboard, visit the PUB (Pick-Up Box) to collect tickets/passes and then meet on snow outside the Rental Shop. PUBs are located outside the ticket windows in each base area.
Need Rentals?
If you are renting skis or snowboards, please check in at the Rental Shop.
Rental Shop Hours
What to Wear
- Dress in layers
- Hat or helmet
- Mittens or gloves
- Waterproof outerwear to stay dry and comfortable
- Consider eye protection, such as goggles.
