Grab your kilt for the 44th annual New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival! One of the largest Scottish festivals in the country, the Highland Games will feature top Scottish bands, classic Highlander cuisine, Scottish heavy athletics, and dozens of other unique cultural attractions.
More than 30 Scottish pipe bands from Canada and the United States will perform at Loon over the course of the Games.
Scottish Heavy Athletics
The New Hampshire Highland Games and Festival has become a favorite venue for many of the world's top Heavyweight athletes. In the past, we've hosted Thor Bjornsson, star of the popular HBO series Game of Thrones, as well as an outstanding field of professional, masters and amateur athletes.
Seminars include whiskey & beer tasting as well as a look back at Scottish history. Demonstrations and workshops are also available for harp, fiddle, and Scottish country dancing.
Competitions are held in Highland dance, piping and drumming, pipe bands, fiddle, and harp. Plus, don't miss the sheepdog trials!
The Games offer great Youth programs on both Saturday and Sunday. Children can try their hand at various craft projects, participate in games and demonstrations, or listen to a traditional Scottish storyteller! Events are designed for children 5 years to preteen, but we welcome all who are interested in discovering more about Scottish culture in an interactive way.
Soar to the top of Loon Peak on NH's longest scenic Gondola Skyride. While at the top, explore summit adventures like the glacial caves, observation tower, mountaintop amphitheater and more. Buy your Gondola Skyride tickets at Loon Mountain Sports located inside the Gondola Barn.
