A Note From Brian

South Peak Plans

Each winter is a roller coaster. This one is no exception.

As I write this, 268 snowmaking hydrants are firing across the resort —the majority of those being on South Peak including Boomer, Cruiser, Upper & Lower Twitcher and Jobber.

South Peak lifts and terrain will open for the first time this season on Monday, December 26.

Our intention was to open Lincoln Express and Tote Road quads this weekend, but with the forecast for Friday and Saturday, our plans changed. The additional days will allow the snow to drain and our grooming team to process the snow on South Peak as needed. The wet storm followed by diving temperatures will be challenging for sure—but we recover well. While South Peak is getting prepped, other mountain ops teams can focus on terrain that’s currently open.

When you arrive at Pemigewasset Base Camp for the first time, you’ll notice changes—inside and out. The owners of South Peak Resort and Cisco Brewers have come together to bring you Cisco at South Peak. It’s still a family-friendly outpost but they have added three full bars, big screen televisions, an indoor stage and an outdoor beer garden on the heated patio. The venue is open to all Loon guests and continues to offer discounts to pass holders. Get more details at the link below.

The ribbon has been cut at Seven Brothers Express and it is already playing a big role in improving the experience at the resort. It’s our second lift installation in as many years and the amount of teamwork it has taken to get here is just immense.  No time to slow down though—next year we’re going to make it three in a row.

Happy holidays,
