Ski & Snowboard Lessons Learn to Ski & Snowboard Programs

Please Note: Group lessons are available through March 30. Private lessons are available through April 16, 2014.

Levels 1–5 PK BOO – Age 3 (ski only)

A great introduction to skiing, PK BOO gives kids one hour of on-hill time in the morning, and one hour in the afternoon. Excellent instructor-to-child ratios optimize learning, and all students receive lift ticket, hot cocoa breaks, and snacks. Morning half-day and full-day students also receive a hot lunch. 

Levels 1–5 KINDERBEAR – Ages 4 – 6

Little skiers and snowboarders hit the slopes for two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon, with ideal instructor-to-student ratios to maximize learning. All students receive lift ticket, hot cocoa breaks, and snacks. Morning half-day and full-day students also receive a hot lunch.

Riglet Park Experience  Ages 3-6 Snowboard

Riglet Park Experience (ages 3-6, snowboard) using the Paul Bunyan-themed Riglet Park - complete with wood carvings of owls, bears and a replica steam train - beginner riders are immersed in a creative & playful environment to enhance their first experience of sliding on snow. The Riglet Park Experience includes: lift ticket, lesson, lunch, snacks, indoor-outdoor games and activities - all for $135!

Add the Riglet Rental for $22. This kid-specific set-up of Burton rental equipment including the Riglet Reel will be the perfect fit. Reservations are strongly recommended - these programs do sell out. Please call 800-229-LOON(5666) to reserve your Riglet Park Experience.

Level 1 Discovery Camp - Ages 7-12

At Discovery Camp, we’ll help your child discover the joys of skiing and riding. With help from our expert instructors, kids first get comfortable on snow, and then learn the skills to reach the next level.

Groups form at 9:45 a.m. in the Snowsports Zone near the base of the Kissin’ Cousin lift. Full-day campers ski or ride with their instructor from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and are given lunch. Morning-only campers also receive lunch before meeting their parents at the Snowsports Zone at 1 p.m. All students enjoy full-day lift access.

Not an early bird? Half-day sessions run from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lunch is not included.

Level 1 Adult Group Learn-to-Ski or Snowboard Packages (Ages 13+) & Learner's Passport

There’s a first time for everything. Sign up for an Adult Learn-To -Ski or Snowboard package and let our dedicated instructors teach you the basics in a relaxed, fun setting. Since these lessons include a novice lift ticket* and rentals, you’ll be able to concentrate on what matters most: learning.

Take your first package lesson and you'll receive a Learner's Passport - and you'll be on your way to a season full of savings! Bring your Passport back and complete a second Learn-To package, and receive a FREE Learner's Club Card, entitling you to FREE rental equipment use at Loon for the rest of this season, plus savings of up to $25/day on lift tickets!

If you’re taking a full day lesson, you’ll ski or ride from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a half hour lunch break. Half day lessons run three hours, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., or 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Groups meet in the Snowsports Zone near the Kissin’ Cousins lift.

Please Note: Lesson participants ages 13 and older in group lessons are released unescorted for lunch and at lesson's end, as are all adult participants.

*Novice Lift Ticket gives you access to 3 lifts (Kissin' Cousins Double Chair, Little Sister Double Chair & Sarsaparilla Magic Carpet) and 4 trails (Sarsaparilla, Snubber, Little Sister and the bottom portion of Lower Bear Claw).

Cancellation Policy

By reserving a lesson, you are agreeing to our cancellation policy, which states:
If you cancel up to two days prior to the date of your reservation, you will not be charged. If you cancel one day prior to the date of your reservation, you will be charged in full and you will receive a Loon-only credit in that dollar amount, to be used during the current winter season. If you cancel the day of your reservation, you will be charged in full.
