Ski & Snowboard Lessons Children's Seasonal Programs Ages 3-6
2013-14 Seasonal Kids Camps
Based out of Loon’s Children’s Center (located in the West Basin), the Scouts programs are designed for kids just starting out skiing & snowboarding or for those looking to build confidence before tackling all three mountain peaks. Loon Mountain Seasonal Kids Camps feature age-appropriate groups and activities. Our coaches are trained in innovative, fun, child-specific teaching techniques.
Junior Scouts - Age 3, All Abilities
Loon Junior Scouts are 3-year old, level 1-7 skiers. For many kids this is their first skiing or snowboarding experience. These little ones spend a minimum of 2 hours on the snow each day of the program. The Junior Scouts program uses a combination of indoor and on-snow activities to maintain the kids' enthusiasm for learning. Kids meet at Loon’s Children’s Center at 8:00AM where they are grouped based on their abilities.
Scouts - Ages 4-6
Loon Scouts are skiers ages 4-6 and level 1-7. This may be their first experience skiing or snowboarding but these kids get more time outside. The Scouts program uses a combination of on-snow and indoor activities to keep the learning process fun and exciting. Scouts will be on-snow at least four hours each day and will have lunch and break times at the Children’s Center. Scouts should be dropped off at the Children’s Center at 8:00AM to be ready for snow at 8:30AM.
Snowboarders in the Scouts Program ( Jr. Scouts too!) are able to use the Burton Riglet Park. This Paul Bunyan-themed area utilizes terrain-based learning all while keeping it playful with a playground size train and carved animals to keep kids entertained.
At the beginning of the winter, Scout groups are formed based on each child’s skiing/riding ability. Kids also get their own cubby in the Children’s Center to store their equipment for the season.
