  • Loon Mountain offers exciting off-slope activities, such as ice skating, snow tubing, indoor climbing walls, snowshoeing, and more!
  • Complete details are available on our website at http://www.loonmtn.com/winter/

Lincoln, NH: Loon Mountain, in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, sets itself apart from other resorts not only because of its easy access and brand new terrain, but also because of its variety of activities both on and off the slopes. In addition to its 47 trails and 6 glades for skiing and snowboarding across three mountain peaks, Loon offers non-ski excitement for winter vacationers.

Families can ice skate and climb the indoor rock wall at the Loon Mountain Adventure Center. Weather permitting, guests can spin, twirl and glide on the outdoor ice rink. The Loon Mountain Adventure Center offers skate rentals and a skate sharpening service. For those looking to stay inside and reach new heights, grab a cup of hot cocoa and try out the 25-ft. indoor rock climbing wall.

At the Loon Mountain Adventure Center, guests can also rent snowshoes or Nordic ski equipment. Snowshoe tours are available on weekends and holidays, and the Adventure Center staff can shuttle guests to nearby cross-country trails.

Snow tubing at Loon Mountain is an outdoor family activity that does not require ski boots or other equipment beside the snow tube. The tubing track is located on the Little Sister Trail and the Tubing Center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Guests must be eight years or older and at least 48 inches tall to participate in lift-served tubing activity. There is also walk-up tubing hill for families with younger children.

Loon offers some nice perks and activities for the non-skiing parent or grandparent who takes the kids to the mountain for the day. Both the Octagon and Governor’s Lodge offer wireless internet access. Specialty coffees, teas and lattes are available at Java Junction, located just across from the base of the Seven Brothers Triple Chairlift. Guests can also hop on a free shuttle bus during the day and head into town of Lincoln and shop at over 30 different area stores or grab lunch at one the town’s many establishments.

A very popular spot for non-skiers at Loon is the Viaggio Spa and Health Club, conveniently located at the slopeside Mountain Club Hotel. The Viaggio offers a full line of services including massage, facials, body treatments, manicures and pedicures. For those who want to elevate their heart rate, the Club also offers a cardio room, weight room, an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, steamroom and locker room facilities. Viaggio is open to the public daily and takes reservations for spa services.

Explore the wilderness by snowmobile or zip line. Visit Lincoln’s Alpine Adventures to sign up for a guided snowmobile tour or fly through the trees on zip line tour. And for those who just need to take a quiet break, Lincoln has a four-theater movie cinema that shows the latest releases.
