THE FINAL STOP OF “THE MAIN EVENT” SNOWBOARD
SERIES COMES TO LOON MOUNTAIN
Earn final points towards a wildcard spot to the U.S. Open of Snowboarding
LINCOLN, NH – With one stop left, “The Main Event” snowboard series will be at Loon Mountain this Sunday, February 25. Riders will look to earn final points towards a wildcard spot to the 2007 U.S. Open of Snowboarding next month. This is the only series on the East Coast that offers an automatic invitation to the U.S. Open Slopestyle Competition. At the end of the day, the top male and female series point leaders will earn “The Main Event” title belts and the coveted wildcard spots.
Event registration is from 8 - 9:30 a.m. in the Bunyan Room at the Octagon Lodge and is limited to the first 100 competitors. The registration fee is $50. Male and female competition is broken up into am and pro divisions The U.S. Open wildcard spot is for the pro class only. Also, to be eligible for the wildcard spots, riders must have pre-qualified for the finals by placing in the top-10 at any previous “The Main Event” stop.
Competition starts at 10 a.m. and will take place on a slopestyle course in the Loon Mountain Park, the East Coast’s #1 rated terrain park. The top-10 riders from each group will advance to "The Main Event" final jam session where amateurs compete for product and the pro’s go for cash. Judges will be looking at the three critical areas of performance; execution, difficulty, and style. Awards and the “Main Event” title belts will be presented 30 minutes after competition ends.
