LOON MOUNTAIN LIGHTS UP IN FEBRUARY
WITH A FULL LINE-UP OF EVENTS
LINCOLN, N.H. - New Hampshire's Loon Mountain has a great line-up of events scheduled for February that includes:
February 4 - Inaugural Women’s Breakthrough Workshop
The new Women's Breakthrough Workshops are designed for women skiers who are comfortable on green circle terrain and feature coaching
from Loon's top women instructors. The workshop will run every Sunday from February 4 - March 25. The cost is $59 per person, and a lift ticket
or pass is also necessary for participation.
February 8 - 11 - Wounded Warriors Project
A special weekend for men and women who were recently injured while fighting in the war on terrorism in Iraq while serving our country. Loon
Mountain and the White Mountain Adaptive Snowsports School work with the Disabled Sports USA Sports Rehabilitation Program to host
soldiers February 8 - 11.
February 9 - CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of N.H. Snowfest
Loon Mountain and WMUR-TV 9 team up to raise awareness and funds for CASA of N.H. Join local TV celebrities for a race on the slopes and
après ski party.
February 10 - Corona and Pondering Judd in the Bunyan Room
Après event in the Bunyan Room after a long day on the slopes with live music from Pondering Judd.
February 10 - 11 - Droppin' In Women's Weekend
The Droppin' In Women's Weekend is a great option for ladies curious about freestyle snowboarding. This women's weekend is a two-day getaway combined with a specialty clinic that focuses on all aspects of the terrain park (riding it and building it), as well as the freestyle lifestyle, with coaching from Loon's highly-trained women's snowboard staff and special guest coaches.
February 10 - 11 - Grenade Strikes Back
Olympic halfpipe silver medalist Danny Kass and the Grenade snowboard team put on a unique weekend park event at Loon Mountain. As one of the only two east coast stops, the winner gets an invite to the Grenade Games in April.
February 15 & 16 - Mo the Clown & his famous balloon creations
Bring the kids and join Mo the Clown & his famous balloon creations in the Governors Lodge from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
February 17 - Salomon X-Wing Rally
The Saab/Salomon X Wing Rally is a unique all-mountain ski event that challenges 50 teams of two to explore Loon Mountain and ski any and all terrain between the two base lodges and North Peak.
February 22 - Open Season Rail Jam Final
The final competition in a series of three events for snowboarders 16 and younger under the lights at Fluorescent Nights. This series is an introduction to competition in the terrain park.
February 22 - 24 - Fluorescent Nights
Loon Mountain will once again light up the superpipe and the lower part of the Loon Mountain Park for skiers and snowboarders as the sun goes down.
February 24 - USASA Superpipe Competition and awards
Snowboarders compete in Superpipe under the lights to earn points for end-of-season Nationals.
February 25 - The Main Event Finals
Park event sponsored by the Main Event, Burton Snowboards, Flow, Drop and Eesa. The overall series winner is determined at Loon and the top male and female win a wildcard spot at the 2007 U.S. Open Slopestyle Competition!
Spring skiing and riding in March and April at Loon offers guests premier conditions with soft snow, warming weather and even more great events. Highlighted events include the TJMAXX Briefcase Race on March 3, Red Bull Schooled Ski on March 4, Shop Showdown on March 10, Last Call with Eastern Boarder on March 21, Cardboard Classic on March 25 and the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge on March 31.
