The best way to view fall foliage at Loon Mountain is by taking a gondola skyride to the 3,500-ft. summit of Loon. Hike the summit loop and climb the Observation Tower for breathtaking views of the surrounding Presidential and White Mountain ranges. For those seeking active adventure while visiting Loon Mountain and the White Mountain region, take the Franconia Notch Bike Tour. This self-guided tour leaves Loon daily at 10:30 AM and 1:00 PM. We shuttle bikers and bikes to scenic Echo Lake in Franconia Notch. From there, enjoy a relaxing downhill ride through the spectacular Franconia Notch via a paved path, with stops for natural attractions like The Flume, a natural 800-foot gorge. The tour includes a pedal through the town of Lincoln, ending back at Loon Mountain.
A trip to New Hampshire's White Mountains would not be complete without a drive on the Kancamagus Highway, a National Scenic Byway. Travel 32 miles from Loon Mountain over Route 112 to Conway, NH. Travelers enjoy vivid scenery at two rest areas located at the 2,855-ft. peak of the Kancamagus Highway.
