130 RIDERS COMPETE IN ANNUAL THANKSJIBBING AT LOON MOUNTAIN

LINCOLN, NH - Funky weather lingered around New England during the Thanksgiving weekend, but that did not stop the Loon Mountain park crew from delivering a killer course for the annual Thanksjibbing rail jam on Saturday, November 25.  Setting a statement on why Loon Mountain has the East Coast's best park, the LMP park crew set a three feature course that drew riders from as far as Rhode Island.  In addition to the rail jam, a 5' mini-ramp was set-up to shred and EPI's 'It Ain't Easy' and Mack Dawg's 'Follow Me Around' was shown after the contest.

As the flood lights got turned on and the competitors migrated to the setup, Oakley's Nelson Wormstead flicked on his megaphone and the contest was on.  130 riders and event some phantom skiers flooded the base area of Loon's Octagon Lodge to win some cash and swag from Oakley, Forum, Foursquare and Neff.  The contest was an all ages, men and women jam with a 60 minute qualifying session leading up to a 20 person final.  Features for the contest were an A-Frame box, round down-rail and picnic table, with judging done by the LMP staff, Nelson and the one and only Hondo.

Making the finals meant throwing some serious hammers due to the level of riding present for this early season contest and a tap on the shoulder brought contestants closer to putting the green in their pockets.  20 riders were tapped into the finals, including all women and notably all Oakley regional riders.  A finals format did really exist…simply throw a lame trick or fall and you were out!

Weeding out the competition was not an easy task for judges, but when all was said and done, everyone hustled inside for free food, drinks, awards and the highly anticipated movie premiere's.  Following the favored 'It Ain't Easy', winners were finally announced:
