Group Lessons/Camps Ages 3-6

Getting a good start in life is important. Here at Loon, our children’s group lessons provide the innovative and caring instruction that will help your kids excel on snow – and have lots of fun, too.

In addition to learning from our top-notch coaches, children will explore exciting Discovery Zones that depict stories about the history of logging in the Lincoln area, the surrounding White Mountain National Forest, and the wild creatures that live on Loon Mountain.

Group lessons are designed for Levels 1-5, with children grouped by ability. Our coaches are trained in child-specific teaching techniques that use games and terrain features to develop their skills.

Levels 1–5 PK Boo Skiing: Age 3

Children in PK BOO enjoy one hour of on-mountain instruction in the morning, and one hour in the afternoon. Excellent instructor-to-student ratios optimize learning, with a lift ticket, snacks and hot cocoa breaks provided for students. Full day and morning half-day participants receive a hot lunch.

Burton Riglet Park Snowboarding Intro: Ages 3-6

The Burton Riglet Park is designed for kids ages 3-6. This Paul Bunyan-themed playground is the ideal introduction to snowboarding. Located in front of the Governor Adams Lodge at the base of Kissin' Cousin chairlift, the Riglet Park uses terrain based teaching methods with bumps, berms, rollers, a micro-pipe, and more.

Along with these features, kids' rental snowboards are equipped with a Riglet Reel. This industry-leading tool attaches to the nose of a compatible Burton snowboard, and allows instructors to pull young riders as they get used to standing sideways. All of these tools, coupled with our Burton Learn to Ride Center teaching techniques, create a dynamic and fun environment for all kids learning to snowboard.

The Riglet Park Experience is for kids ages 3-6 looking to start their snowboarding adventure. Using the Paul Bunyan-themed Riglet Park - complete with wood carvings of owls, bears and a replica steam train - beginner riders are immersed in a creative & playful environment to enhance their first experience of sliding on snow.

The Riglet Park Experience includes: lift ticket, lesson, lunch, snacks, indoor-outdoor games and activities. Add the Riglet Rental, a kid-specific setup of Burton rental equipment including the Riglet Reel will be the perfect fit. Reservations are strongly recommended - these programs do sell out.

Levels 1–5 Kinderbear Skiing: Ages 4 – 6

Designed for slightly older kids, Kinderbear provides two hours of skiing or snowboarding in the morning, and two hours in the afternoon.
